Abstract:
The invention discloses a method for preparing porous functional polymer microspheres, comprising: forming a homogeneous liquid crystal mixture which comprises at least one reactive liquid crystal, at least one copolymerizable monomer, at least one non-reactive liquid crystal and at least one polymerization initiator; dispersing the liquid crystal mixture into a continuous phase to form a emulsion of liquid crystal droplets; polymerizing the at least one reactive liquid crystal and the at least one copolymerizable monomer to form intermediate microspheres; and removing the at least one non-reactive liquid crystal compound to form the porous functional polymer microspheres. The method is simple, easy to operate and thus scalable for mass production.
