Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing porous hydroxyapatite coatings, particularly, a method for preparing porous hydroxyapatite coatings by suspension plasma spraying, which belongs to technical field of production of biomedical materials. The pore-forming agent is added into hydroxyapatite suspension with the solid content of 16% - 45%, after being stirred well, the suspension is used as spraying materials to be delivered to an injecting system and then to be injected into a high temperature zone at the center of plasma torch, the spraying materials exchange heat with the high temperature plasma torch jetted by a plasma gun, and then are subjected to droplet breaking up and thinning, solvent vaporizing and the pore-forming agent decomposing and gasifying, the melted spraying materials are directly deposited as porous hydroxyapatite coatings on the surface of biomedical materials used as substrates. The method is simple in terms of process and the production cost is low. The prepared hydroxyapatite coating with porous structure is of advantage to transportation of oxygen and nutriment, excretion of metabolite and improvement of biological activity, providing an advantageous microenvironment for regeneration of cells and tissues.
