Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing propylene glycol monoethyl ether by means of a fixed bed reaction using a solid superbase as a catalyst. The method comprises the steps of: feeding ethanol and propylene oxide into a fixed bed reactor filled with a solid superbase catalyst, continuously carrying out an etherification reaction, and then collecting the propylene glycol monoethyl ether from the reaction product, wherein the solid superbase catalyst is a composite metal oxide modified by a modifier; the modifier comprises one or more of KOH, KF, KNO 3, K 2CO 3 or KHCO 3. Continuity, a high efficiency and no three wastes can be achieved, the process is simple, it is easy to achieve automation and large scale production, the production efficiency is high, the selectivity for a primary ether is good, and the product yield is high; furthermore, the catalyst is not easily lost, has a long service life, no corrosion to equipment and no three wastes produced, and is safe and environmentally friendly. The conversion rate of the propylene oxide is 100%, the yield of the propylene glycol monoethyl ether is 97-98%, and the selectivity of the primary ether is 95-96%.
