Abstract:
Provided are: a method for preparing a sample for crystal structure analysis in order to determine the absolute configuration of a chiral compound, said method having a step for preparing a sample for crystal structure analysis by bringing a solvent solution containing a chiral compound whose absolute configuration is to be determined into contact with a monocrystal of a porous compound that has a three dimensional skeleton in which the absolute configuration has a known chiral substituent, and which is constituted by one or more molecular chains, or by one or more molecular chains and a skeleton-forming compound, and that has pores and/or voids formed through partitioning by the three dimensional skeleton, and is regularly arrayed three-dimensionally, whereby molecules of the chiral compound become regularly arrayed within the pores and/or voids of the monocrystal; a method of determining the absolute configuration of a chiral compound, wherein a sample for crystal structure analysis obtained by the aforementioned method is used; and a polynuclear metal complex monocrystal suitable for use in the method for preparing a sample for crystal structure analysis.
