Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing a sap, said sap being appropriately usable in a medium suitable for culturing a microorganism, using a sap obtained from oil palm trunks and leafstalks as a starting material. The method for preparing a sap according to the present invention is characterized by comprising one or more steps selected from the group consisting of a step for inactivating fermentation inhibitor(s) contained in a sap obtained from oil palm trunks and leafstalks, a step for separating the same, and a step for removing the same. By using the sap, microbial fermentation can be further promoted so that a useful substance can be produced at a higher efficiency. In the present invention, examples of the microbial fermentation inhibitor(s) include phenolic substances or substances containing phenolic substances.
