Abstract:

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a super absorbent resin, the method comprising the steps of: a) preparing a hydrous gel polymer by means of thermopolymerizing or photopolymerizing a monomer composition comprising a polymerization initiator and a water-soluble ethylene unsaturated monomer; b) adding particles, which have properties of i) and ii), to a chopped hydrous gel polymer; c) chopping again the hydrous gel polymer to which the particles have been added; d) drying the hydrous gel polymer; e) grinding the dried hydrous gel polymer; f) adding a surface cross-linking agent to the ground hydrous gel polymer; and g) performing a surface cross-linking reaction, wherein i) the BET specific surface area is 300-1500 m2/g, and ii) the porosity is 50% or higher.
