Abstract:
A method for preserving a catalyst, characterized in that in a process for producing an objective product continuously by a vapor phase oxidation reaction using a phosphorus-molybdenum-vanadium catalyst containing phosphorus, molybdenum and vanadium, the phosphorus-molybdenum-vanadium catalyst held in a reactor before the start of a reaction or during the stop of the reaction is kept in a state that the catalyst has a water content of 30 mg or less per 1 g of the catalyst in a dry state. The preserving method allows the prevention of the deterioration of the catalyst held in a reactor with ease and simplicity.
