Abstract:
A method of preventing breakage of a reaction container consisting of carbon can prevent a crack in a connecting section caused by thermal expansion. Substantially circular tube-shaped bodies consisting of carbon, the bodies each having, on one end thereof, a protrusion which has a reduced outer diameter and also each having, on the other end thereof, a shoulder which has an expanded inner diameter, are connected to each other. The connection is made in a sequence which reduces the difference between the thermal expansion coefficient of the protrusion of one of the substantially circular tube-shaped bodies and the thermal expansion coefficient of the shoulder of another of the substantially circular tube-shaped bodies.
