Abstract:
A method for preventing overheating of a transmitter for transmitting wireless power to a receiver according to one embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: measuring a temperature of the transmitter; receiving, from the receiver, a renegotiation packet which requests entry into a renegotiation phase; receiving, from the receiver, a general request packet which requests a power transmitter capability packet; controlling a guaranteed power value on the basis of the measured temperature and a critical temperature; transmitting, to the receiver, the power transmitter capability packet including the guaranteed power value; receiving, from the receiver, a special request packet for required power determined on the basis of the guaranteed power value; and transmitting, to the receiver, a response signal to the special request packet, wherein the renegotiation packet includes a flag bit, and the critical temperature has a changed value when the flag bit indicates an overheating state of the receiver.
