Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preventing swelling of a battery cell and a battery pack using the same and, more specifically, to a method for preventing swelling of a battery cell and a battery pack using the same, the method comprising the steps of: measuring the time during which a temperature and cell voltage of a battery cell being charged are maintained at or above the reference value; and when the measured time is larger than or equal to the reference time, dropping charging voltage to lower the temperature and the cell voltage of the battery cell, whereby the battery cell can prevent a condition leading to occurrence of a swelling phenomenon.
