Abstract:
A method for printing a toner containing sublimable dye is provided with a step for transferring an image of toner particles formed on a light-sensitive body to a sheet-like base material. In the transfer step, the sheet-like base material is sandwiched between the light-sensitive body and a transfer roll, and current is made to flow between the light-sensitive body and the transfer roll, imparting an electric field between the light-sensitive body and the transfer roll. The current is controlled at a constant value so as to be any value within a range of 3 to 5 times the current value for imparting maximum transfer efficiency for the toner from the light-sensitive body to the sheet-like base material. The surface resistivity of the sheet-like base material at 23°C and 55% RH is 1.0 × 109 − 5.0 × 1010 Ω/sq. The coefficient of friction between the surface of the sheet-like base material facing the light-sensitive body and the surface of the light-sensitive body is 0.41 or less.
