Abstract:
The invention relates to plastic working of metals and alloys, in particular to plastic working of hypereutectoid alloys based on titanium aluminides $g(g)-TiAl (superstructure Ll¿0?-$g(g) phase) and Ti¿3?Al (superstructure DO¿19?-$g(a)¿2? phase) produced by casting. Said invention can be used for industrially producing billets, semifinished products and articles made of said materials having a specified structure. The inventive method for said alloys consists in heating and deforming a billet, the deformation of a billet being carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the deformation is carried out within a range of T¿e?$m(X)T¿e + ?$g(D)T °C, where T¿e ?is a¿ ?temperature of eutectoid transformation, $g(D)T being selected according to a condition of maintaining the globular constituent of the structure obtained as result of deformation during post-deformation cooling. The deformation rate $g(e)'¿1? and the degree of strain $g(e)¿1? are selected in such a way that they reduce the mean dimension of grains/colonies in the billet. In the second stage, the deformation of a billet is carried out under isothermal conditions within a temperature range of T¿min?$m(X)T¿e ?°C, where T¿min? is a maximum temperature ensuring non-destructive deformation at the degree of strain $g(e)¿2? and the deformation rate $g(e) ¿2? which are¿ ?selected¿ ?according to a condition of refining the grain dimension $g(g) and $g(a)¿2? particles.
