Abstract:
After adding a combined chlorine agent into free chlorine-containing waste water, the waste water is processed with a reverse osmosis membrane. The combined chlorine agent is an agent containing a nitrogen compound that produces combined chlorine, and sulfamic acid or a salt thereof is preferably used as the combined chlorine agent. It is also preferable to use an agent that is obtained by blending a chlorine-based oxidant, which serves as a free chlorine agent, into sulfamic acid or a salt thereof. Hypochlorous acid or a salt thereof is preferably used as the chlorine-based oxidant. It is preferable that the combined chlorine agent is added into free chlorine-containing waste water after adjusting the pH of the free chlorine-containing waste water to 7.5 or less. Consequently, waste water that contains free chlorine because of sterilization or the like is able to be efficiently processed, while preventing deterioration of a polyamide-based RO membrane.
