Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for processing workpieces (14) of various types in a work station (10), wherein the work station (10) has a station frame (16), a tool (12) for processing the workpiece (14), the tool being held by the station frame, a workpiece holder (20) which can be exchanged and which is arranged in a holding recess (18) connected to the station frame (16), a control device (22) for controlling the tool (12) which processes the workpiece (14), wherein the exchangeable workpiece holder (20) has a data storage (24) with data about the type of workpiece to be processed, the workpiece holder (20) being intended for the type of workpiece, and wherein coupling elements (40, 42) are provided on the side of the station and the side of the holder, wherein the workpiece type data can be transmitted via said coupling elements (40, 42) from the workpiece holder data storage (24) to the control device (22). The method comprises the method steps of, first, if following processing of a first workpiece (14), a second workpiece (14) of the same type is to be processed, the first workpiece (14) is removed from the workpiece holder (20) and the second workpiece (14) is inserted into the same workpiece holder (20), and second, if following processing of a first workpiece (14), a second workpiece of another type is to be processed, the workpiece holder (20) of the first type is removed and the workpiece holder (20') of the second type is inserted, or the workpiece type data is transmitted from the information storage (24') to the control device (22) and the workpiece of the second type (14') is inserted in to the workpiece holder of the second type (20').
