Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing 1,2-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene at high yield on an industrial scale by using, as a raw material, a halogenated olefin that can be purchased inexpensively. This method includes dehydrochlorinating a halogenated saturated hydrocarbon selected from among 1,1,2-trichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropane and 1,2,2-trichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropane in the presence of chlorine and an activated carbon-containing catalyst. This method may further include adding chlorine to a halogenated olefin selected from among 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene and 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene to produce a halogenated saturated hydrocarbon.
