Abstract:
Provided is an economically advantageous method for producing HFO-1234yf, which is a substance useful as a novel cooling medium, with satisfactorily high yield by a one-cycle reaction involving thermal decomposition. Provided is a method for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,1-difluoroethylene, characterized by comprising the steps of: (a) mixing chlorodifluoromethane and/or tetrafluoroethylene with methane in advance and then supplying the mixture to a reactor, or supplying chlorodifluoromethane and/or tetrafluoroethylene and methane separately to the reactor; (b) supplying a heating medium to the reactor; and (c) bringing the chlorodifluoromethane and/or the tetrafluoroethylene and the methane into contact with the heating medium in the reactor to produce 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,1-difluoroethylene.
