Abstract:

　A method for producing 5-amino-3 substituted-1,2,4-thiadiazole, the method having a step for obtaining a compound represented by formula (II) by sequentially adding a brominating agent and a base to a mixture that includes an alcohol, an amidine compound represented by formula (I) and/or a mineral acid salt thereof, and a thiocyanic acid alkali metal salt. R represents a C1-5 alkyl group or a C1-5 alkylthio group.
