Abstract:
A method for producing an absorbent body that comprises forming an absorbent body in which the dimension along a transport direction is shorter than the dimension along a transverse direction, wherein it is difficult for consumers to recognize positional deviation even if the position of cutting deviates during cutting of an absorbent body continuum along the transverse direction. The method for producing an absorbent body for an absorbent article, wherein: the method is provided with a preparation step for preparing an absorbent body continuum (50) in which the material of an absorbent body (3) extends in a strip shape, and a cutting step for cutting the absorbent body continuum along the transverse direction so as to form an absorbent body in which the dimension along a transport direction is shorter than the dimension along a transverse direction orthogonal to the transport direction while the absorbent body continuum is transported in the transport direction; a transverse-direction end extension part (50b) of the absorbent body continuum has a convexly curved region (52) having an outer edge that is convexly curved with respect to the transverse-direction outer side, and a concavely curved region (53) having an outer edge that is concavely curved with respect to the transverse-direction outer side; the convexly curved region and concavely curved region are disposed alternatingly along the transport direction; and the cutting step includes a step for cutting the absorbent body continuum in a concavely curved region.
