Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALCOHOL COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/124172
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method is provided by which an alcohol compound having a satisfactory purity is obtained from an ester compound in a simple manner. A high-purity alcohol compound can be obtained by: passing a solution which contains both an ester compound and methanol and/or ethanol through a column packed with an anion-exchange resin which has a methoxide or ethoxide as a counter anion, thereby yielding a methyl ester and/or an ethyl ester; and distilling off the ester(s) together with the methanol and/or ethanol.
