Abstract:
A method for producing an aluminum alloy member, said method comprising a step wherein an aluminum alloy extrusion material having a hollow cross-section is heated so as to reach a temperature within a predetermined temperature range and subsequently, the aluminum alloy extrusion material is subjected to plastic working within the above-mentioned temperature range. This method for producing an aluminum alloy member is characterized in that: the aluminum alloy extrusion material is a T1 tempered material of a heat treatment type aluminum alloy extrusion material; the above-mentioned temperature range is from 150°C to 300°C; and the aluminum alloy extrusion material is sandwiched between a first mold for heating and a second mold for heating, said molds having been heated to a temperature of from 200°C to 350°C, in a direction that is perpendicular to the extrusion direction of the aluminum alloy extrusion material, and is heated to a temperature within the above-mentioned temperature range by means of heat transfer from the first mold for heating and the second mold for heating.
