Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for efficiently producing an amide compound without reducing the activity of a microbial catalyst, and to provide a device for producing an amide compound that can be advantageously used in this method. [Solution] The method for producing an amide compound has the step of feeding a nitrile compound and water to a reaction tank containing, as a catalyst, microbial cells and/or a microbial processed product thereof containing nitrile hydratase, the temperature of the liquid in the tank being maintained at 0−50°C, and the ingredients being fed at a temperature 10°C or less above the temperature of the liquid in the reaction tank. The device for producing an amide compound comprises: a reaction tank for producing an amide compound by the hydration of a nitrile compound using, as a catalyst, microbial cells and/or a microbial processed product thereof containing nitrile hydratase; a starting material feed line for feeding the nitrile compound and water to the reaction tank; and a temperature control device provided to the starting material feed line.
