Abstract:
Disclosed is a method that is for producing an anisotropic bonded magnet and that can decrease the cost and increase the production characteristics of the annular anisotropic bonded magnet. The method for producing an anisotropic bonded magnet is provided with: an orienting step that applies an orienting magnetic field—from an orienting magnetic poles (13, 14) containing an odd number of permanent magnets disposed uniformly around the outer periphery of an annular cavity (c) filled with magnet starting material—that causes a semi-radial orientation of a rare-earth anisotropic magnet powder; a molding step that compression molds the semi-radially oriented magnet starting material, obtaining an annular molded body; and a discharge step that discharges the molded body from the annular cavity; and is characterized by being provided with a demagnetization step that causes the orienting magnetic poles to move relatively only in the peripheral direction with respect to the molded body after the molding step, applying a demagnetization magnetic field—in a direction that negates the magnetization of the molded body that resulted from the orienting magnetic field—from orienting magnetic poles that are the opposite poles from those during the orienting step. As a result, it is possible to produce many anisotropic bonded magnets in a short time.
