Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for producing antibacterial fibers that have excellent antibacterial properties and water absorption even after repeated washing, which is capable of providing a fiber material containing cellulose-based fibers with both antibacterial properties and water absorption; antibacterial fibers; and an antibacterial processing agent for cellulose-based fibers.
A method for producing antibacterial fibers of the present invention comprises a step (A) wherein a fiber material containing cellulose-based fibers is processed with an organosiloxane having a quaternary ammonium salt group and a glycidyl ether compound or alternatively processed with a reaction product of the organosiloxane and the glycidyl ether compound. An antibacterial processing agent for cellulose-based fibers of the present invention contains an organosiloxane having a quaternary ammonium salt group and a glycidyl ether compound or alternatively contains a reaction product of the organosiloxane and the glycidyl ether compound.
