Disclosed is a method for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon, wherein an aromatic hydrocarbon is stably produced for a long time by catalytically reacting a lower hydrocarbon with a catalyst, while economically regenerating the catalyst and maintaining a high aromatic hydrocarbon production yield. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon, which comprises a reaction step wherein an aromatic hydrocarbon is obtained by catalytically reacting a lower hydrocarbon with a catalyst, and a regeneration step wherein the catalyst used in the reaction step is regenerated, and repeats the reaction step and the regeneration step.  Also specifically disclosed is an apparatus for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon.  The off-gas, which is a gas obtained by removing the aromatic hydrocarbon produced in the reaction step from the gas discharged after the reaction step, is used as a regeneration gas for the regeneration step.
