Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for producing an artificial lung having a plurality of porous hollow fiber membranes for gas exchange, the plurality of porous hollow fiber membranes for gas exchange including: an outer surface; an inner surface that forms an inner cavity; and an opening that communicates the outer surface with the inner surface. The method includes a step for bringing either one of the outer surface and the inner surface into contact with a colloid solution that contains an antithrombotic polymer compound, in order to make carbon dioxide gas flow on the other surface side. According to the present invention, an artificial lung, in which the coated amount of an antithrombotic polymer material (the antithrombotic polymer compound) based on the amount of the hollow fiber membranes is increased, can be produced.
