Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING BLACK PIGMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/106907
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A black pigment, which has high infrared reflectance (NIR), while maintaining a black color with an L* value of 30 or less, is required as measures against current global warming. Copper (II) oxide according to the present invention is obtained by: adding an aqueous alkali solution to a solution of copper (II), said aqueous alkali solution being in an amount of not less than the molar neutralization equivalent for the solution of copper (II); aging the resulting mixture for three hours or more, while stirring and maintaining the mixture at temperature of from 20°C to 70°C; and subsequently subjecting the mixture to solid-liquid separation. Consequently, this copper (II) oxide has high NIR, while maintaining a black color. If this copper (II) oxide is heated, the NIR thereof decreases; but if this copper (II) oxide is coated with a polymer such as ammonium polyacrylate, the heat resistance thereof is improved.
