Abstract:
The present invention provides a means for producing beached pulp that has an excellent degree of whiteness. A method for producing beached pulp, said method comprising: an alkaline oxygen bleaching step wherein unbleached pulp is subjected to alkaline oxygen bleaching; a permonosulfuric acid bleaching step wherein a treatment with permonosulfuric acid bleaching is performed; and a first chlorine dioxide bleaching step wherein a treatment with chlorine dioxide is performed. With respect to this method for producing beached pulp, the ratio of the addition rate (% by mass) of the chlorine dioxide relative to the absolute dry mass of the unbleached pulp to the addition rate (% by mass) of the permonosulfuric acid relative to the absolute dry mass of the unbleached pulp, namely (addition rate of chlorine dioxide)/(addition rate of permonosulfuric acid) is from 0.25 to 4.0.
