Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a branched chain aldehyde, comprising reacting carbon monoxide and hydrogen with an aliphatic olefin having terminal double bonds using an iodine compound of a group 9 metal as the catalyst and at least one auxiliary catalyst selected from hydrogen iodide and alkyl iodides.
