A method for producing butadiene, the method having a first synthesis step for bringing a gas mixture including hydrogen and carbon monoxide into contact with a first catalyst and obtaining a primary product including ethanol as an intermediate, and a second synthesis step for bringing the primary product into contact with a second catalyst and obtaining butadiene.
