Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for safely and efficiently producing a carbonate derivative even when a base is not used. This method for producing a carbonate derivative includes a step in which a composition containing halogenated methane and a hydroxyl group-containing compound is irradiated with high-energy light in the presence of oxygen. The method for producing a carbonate derivative is characterized in that the molar ratio of the total use amount of the hydroxyl group-containing compound with respect to one mole of the halogenated methane is 0.05 or more.
