Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for simply and easily producing 2,2-dichloro-12-(4-chlorophenyl)-10-hydroxydodecanoic
acid, which is useful as an active ingredient for drugs for treating diseases
such as diabetes, with high yield. Specifically, the method comprises a step
for producing a compound represented by the general formula (C) below by reacting
a compound represented by the formula (A) below with the compound represented
by the formula (B): CHCl2COOR1 (wherein R1 represents
a hydrogen atom or a protecting group of a carboxyl group). (A) (In the formula,
X represents a halogen atom.) (C) (In the formula, R1 is as
defined above.)
