Abstract:
According to the present invention, a method for producing a carboxylic acid thioester is provided, which comprises reacting a compound represented by formula (I) with a carboxylic acid and a thiol in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one type of Group-2 metal compound. This production method is easy to operate the reaction, has little burdens on the environment and human bodies, and makes it possible to produce a carboxylic acid thioester catalytically with high yield even under ambient temperature and ambient pressure (25°C, 1 atm). [In formula (I), R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.]
