Abstract:
Provided is a catalyst for the production of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, which enables the production of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid with high yield. A method for producing a catalyst for the production of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, which uses, as a molybdenum starting material, a molybdenum oxide that has a fraction of particles having a particle diameter of 6 μm or less of 2-55% by volume in a frequency distribution curve as obtained by particle diameter distribution measurement.
