Abstract:
Provided are: a method for producing a cellulose ester-containing resin molded article, which is capable of preventing separation unevenness in a polarizing plate or unevenness in a liquid crystal display device, said unevenness being caused by an optical film that is obtained through a melting process; and an optical film which is produced by the production method. Also provided are a polarizing plate and a display device, each of which is provided with the optical film. The method for producing a cellulose ester-containing resin molded article is characterized by comprising: a step wherein a liquid, which contains at least one solvent that dissolves or bulges a cellulose ester having a total degree of substitution of less than 2.0, is added to a resin material that contains a cellulose ester resin having a total degree of substitution of 2.0 or more in an amount of 5.5-70% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the cellulose ester; and a step wherein the resin material is melted after the addition of the liquid without undergoing a drying step. The method for producing a cellulose ester-containing resin molded article is also characterized in that a cellulose ester-containing resin molded article is formed without undergoing a solution casting step.
