Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing cellulose fibers, which has excellent spinnability. After obtaining a starting material solution (S) by dissolving a cellulose starting material into an ionic liquid that is formed of an imidazolium compound until the average polymerization degree reaches 300-4,300, the starting material solution (S) is extruded into a coagulant (6), in which the imidazolium compound is soluble but a cellulose is not soluble, thereby causing the cellulose contained in the starting material solution (S) to coagulate. The cellulose starting material contains the cellulose in an amount of 95% by mass or more relative to the total mass of the cellulose starting material, and has a crystallinity of 70% or more and an average polymerization degree of 1,000 or more as determined by a TAPPI method.
