Abstract:
A method for producing a ceramic sintered article, which comprises providing a formed article of a ceramic, providing a slurry containing a powder of the above ceramic and a dispersing medium, coating the surface of the formed article with the above slurry so as to form a free surface, and then firing the formed article to provide the ceramic sintered article. The above method allows the reduction of irregularities on the surface of the formed article and the improvement of the smoothness of the surface of the sintered article.
