Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing a cholesteric liquid crystal film, which is capable of producing a cholesteric liquid crystal film that exhibits high elastic modulus, while being shaped into a predetermined shape without the occurrence of cracks. A method for producing a cholesteric liquid crystal film according to the present invention comprises: a step 1 for forming a coating film which contains a liquid crystal compound A having a first reactive group and a second reactive group that is different from the first reactive group, or which alternatively contains a liquid crystal compound B having the first reactive group and a liquid crystal compound C having the second reactive group; a step 2 for forming a cholesteric liquid crystal phase in the coating film; a step 3 for curing the coating film by causing a reaction of the first reactive group; a step 4 for shaping the coating film that is obtained in the step 3; and a step 5 for producing a cholesteric liquid crystal film by causing a reaction of the second reactive group.
