Provided is a method for producing a conductive material which generates low electrical resistivity, and is obtained using an inexpensive and stable composition for a conductive material. It is possible to obtain a conductive material which generates low electrical resistivity by a method for producing a conductive material comprising a step for heating a composition for a conductive material containing silver particles and a cured or semi-cured thermosetting resin and/or a thermoplastic resin. The conductive material is a material wherein thermosetting resin powder having an average particle size between 0.1 µm and 10 µm is dispersed in molten silver particles. Moreover, such a conductive material is a material wherein the thermoplastic resin is fused in the molten silver particles.
