Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing a copolymer that includes a process for polymerizing at least one of ethylene and an optionally substituted styrene with an unconjugated diene. (1) A metallocene complex which is represented by general formula (I) and contains a central metal (M) that is a group 3 metal atom or lanthanoid metal, a ligand (Cp*) that contains an optionally substituted cyclopentadienyl bonded to the central metal, monoanionic ligands (Q1 and Q2) and a number W neutral Lewis bases and (2) a catalyst composition that contains an ionic compound formed from a noncoordinating anion and a cation are used as a catalyst. (In the formula, W represents an integer of 0 - 3.)
