Abstract:
Provided is a method of producing a cover glass for portable equipment with which dimensional accuracy of a glass substrate after chemical strengthening can be improved. The method of producing a cover glass for portable equipment according to the present invention comprises: a shaping step for processing a plate glass into a glass substrate having the shape of a cover glass for portable equipment; and a chemical strengthening step, which is performed after the shaping step, for chemically strengthening the glass substrate by contacting the glass substrate with a chemical strengthening treatment liquid. The correspondence between the condition of the chemical strengthening treatment liquid used in the chemical strengthening step and the stretch in dimensions of the glass substrate when chemically strengthened by the chemical strengthening treatment liquid in said condition is assessed in advance. In the shaping step, the processing amount of the glass substrate is determined such that the dimensions of the glass substrate after the chemical strengthening step are the dimensions required by the cover glass for portable equipment by referring to the above correspondence on the basis of the condition of the chemical strengthening treatment liquid used in the chemical strengthening step.
