Abstract:
[Problem] To efficiently mark a cut article using comparatively simple equipment regardless of the length of the cut article. [Solution] A band-form steel band member 2 (continuous member) that is wound into a roll is drawn out and guided to a transport path 3. The transport path 3 transports the steel band member 2 that extends in the transport direction. A marking device 5 repeatedly marks the continuous member 2 on the transport path 3 with mutually different unique identification information so that the identification information is aligned at predetermined marking intervals. The steel band member 2 on which the identification information is marked is repeatedly cut by a cutting machine 8 at desired lengths, which are integral multiples of the marking interval, thereby creating a plurality of types of steel pipe 4 (cut article) of different length. A sensor 10 reads identification information marked at predetermined positions on the steel pipes 4. The read identification information is recorded in a management database 14 as identification information for individually managing the steel pipes 4.
