Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for producing a cyclic conjugated polymer, at the same yield as and having equivalent or superior stereoregularity and molecular weight distribution to conventional methods for producing cyclic conjugated polymers such as poly(3-substituted thiophenes), using inexpensive materials and production steps that are simple in that they do not require restricting the reaction temperature to the low-temperature region, and the like. [Solution] A method for producing a cyclic conjugated polymer whereby a monohalogenated cyclic conjugated compound having five-member to seven-member rings is deprotonated using a deprotonation catalyst formed from a secondary amine represented by R1NHR2 (where R1 and R2 are the same or different branched or cyclic C1-15 alkyl group or phenyl group) and a Grignard reagent represented by R3MgX(where X is a halogen atom selected from chlorine, bromine and iodine and R3 is a linear or branched C1-6 alkyl group), and the deprotonated monohalogenated cyclic conjugated compound is polymerized.
