Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing a cyclopentyl alkyl ether compound by reacting cyclopentene that may comprise a substituent with an alcohol compound that is represented by formula (2), namely, R1OH (in the formula, R1 represents an alkyl group that comprises 1-10 carbon atoms and that may comprise a substituent or a cycloalkyl group that comprises 3-8 carbon atoms and that may comprise a substituent) under the presence of an acidic zeolite. The cyclopentyl alkyl ether compound is represented by formula (1), namely, R1-O-R2 (in the formula, R1 represents the same meaning that is indicated above and R2 represents a cyclopentyl group that may comprise a substituent). The present invention provides a method that makes reaction possible even in a liquid phase and that makes it possible to produce cyclopentyl alkyl ether at a high reaction efficiency even when the supply of a raw material is increased.
