Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for producing and a device for producing a magnetic recording medium that enable the formation of a lubricant membrane at an even thickness on the surface of the magnetic recording medium. Specifically, the device, which is for producing the magnetic recording medium, and which forms a lubricant membrane on the surface of the magnetic recording medium by means of immersing the disc-shaped magnetic recording medium—which has a central hole—into an immersion tank in which there is liquid lubricant, and then raising the magnetic recording medium up from the immersion tank, is characterized by: being provided with a hanger mechanism that is inserted into the central hole of the aforementioned magnetic recording medium, thus supporting said magnetic recording medium in a hanging state, and a raising/lowering mechanism that performs a raising/lowering operation on one of either the aforementioned hanger mechanism or the aforementioned immersion tank with respect to the other; and by the aforementioned hanger mechanism having a support plate, the upper end of which contacts the inner perimeter of the aforementioned magnetic recording medium, and an excess fluid removal plate that is provided extending from the bottom end of the aforementioned support plate and that forms a gap between itself and the inner perimeter of the aforementioned magnetic recording medium along said inner perimeter.
