Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) at a high yield, and according to the production method for DMT of the present invention, DMT may be acquired at a high yield through an aromatization reaction in the absence of a solvent. In addition, DMT may be produced under the same conditions by using a by-product acquired from the said reaction, dimethyl 1,4-cyclocyclocarboxylate, which is a compound represented by chemical formula 2. Accordingly, the production method for DMT of the invention may be usefully used in economically producing DMT at a high yield.
