Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a method for highly efficiently producing a lactic acid bacterium that can contain a large amount of double-stranded RNA; and a lactic acid bacterium having a high double-stranded RNA content, which can be produced by the method. The problem can be solved by: (1) a method for producing a lactic acid bacterium containing double-stranded RNA, including the step of subjecting a lactic acid bacterium to the culture under an aeration condition and/or a low-temperature condition where the temperature is lower than an optimum temperature to produce the lactic acid bacterium containing double-stranded RNA; (2) a lactic acid bacterium containing double-stranded RNA, in which the content of the double-stranded RNA is at least 2.0 times that achieved when a bacterium of the same strain is cultured for the same culture period at the optimum temperature and under a non-aeration condition; and others.
