Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing an extract from plant material of the species Rumex acetosa L., comprising the following steps: a) providing plant material of the species Rumex acetosa L., b) providing a first extraction agent, containing water and at least one liquid at least partially soluble in water, c) optionally providing a second extraction agent, containing an organic solvent, d) extraction treating the plant material with the first extraction agent to obtain an extract, e) separating the extract from the extracted plant material, f) optionally concentrating the separated extract by evaporation, such as drying the separated extract, and g) optionally purifying and/or concentrating the extract. The present invention further relates to an extract for producing a pharmaceutical, particularly for treating viral infections.
