METHOD FOR PRODUCING FERRITE SINTERED COMPACT

A method for producing a ferrite sintered compact having a main composition represented by the following formula (1): AFe²⁺_aFe³⁺_b O₂₇ ··· (1) [wherein a and b satisfy 1.5 ≤ a ≤ 2.1 and 14 ≤ a + b ≤ 18.5, and A represents at least one element selected from Sr, Ba and Pb], which comprises a tentative firing step of preparing a tentatively fired product, a first pulverization step of pulverizing the tentatively fired product to a prescribed particle size, a heat treatment step of holding the fine powder prepared in the first pulverization step in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 10 vol % or less in the prescribed temperature range for the prescribed period of time, a second pulverization step of pulverizing the fine powder from the heat treatment step to a prescribed particle size, a step of subjecting the fine powder from the second pulverization step to a wet forming in a magnetic field, and a firing step of firing a formed article prepared by the wet forming. The above method allows the reduction of the failure in forming during the wet forming, to thereby produce a W type ferrite having high magnetic characteristic.
