METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLOAT GLASS

A method for producing a float glass wherein a molten glass is supplied on a molten tin, the molten glass is stretched into a ribbon-like glass, and the ribbon-like glass is separated form the molten tin and then is cut into a float glass, characterized in that the ribbon-like glass has a temperature (T₀) of (T_G - 50&ring C) to (T_G + 30&ring C), wherein T_G represents the glass transition temperature of the float glass, when it is separated from the molten tin. The method can be advantageously employed in the production of a float glass for a glass substrate to be used in LCD or PDP.
