Abstract:
A method for producing a fluorine-containing sulfonyl fluoride compound which comprises oxidizing RB-E-RA-S-S-RA-E-RB to form XSO2-RA-E-RB (2), reacting the oxidation product with fluorine in a liquid phase to form FSO2-RAF-EF-RBF, and decomposing the fluorination product to prepare FSO2-RAF-COF, wherein RA represents a divalent organic group, RAF represents a divalent organic group or the like, RB represents a monovalent organic group, RBF represents a monovalent organic group or the like, E represents -COOCH2-, EF represents -COOCF2- and X represents a halogen atom. The method is almost free from major conventional difficulties associated with the production of the above sulfonyl fluoride, and also allows the production of fluorine-containing sulfonyl fluoride compounds having various molecular structures and being useful as a raw material for an ion exchange resin or the like with good efficiency at a low cost.
